Description
Simon Anderson invented the thruster in 1980, and it is still popular today. The thruster fin setup is praised for its strength in a wide range of conditions. You can use it in 2ft conditions on your longboard or in 20+ ft conditions on a gun. It allows you to make use of all sorts of boards and to ride them to the fullest of their ability. About it's only negative is that, because it produces a fair bit of drag, a surfboard with a thruster needs to be turned constantly to keep it on it's rails and thus fast!

Cool boards, they came a long way from my 1962 'Bing'.
I just got thru watching "Chasing Maverics" on HBO a couple hours ago and the kid had a board just like that. While we are on the subject of Maverics, Andrew, Maverics is a beach at Half Moon Bay, California. At the local airport is a very wealthy person who owns several classic war birds. He houses them in his own hanger. The last time I was there, as a guest, he had an F4U Corsair, a P-51 Mustang and several others and at least 2 were in the midst of being totally refurbished. That was fun. Have a good weekend big guy and nice new avatar (meow).

If a subject has to do with water, I am always interested! These are some fine looking boards. I just read up on Simon Anderson and his thrusters. Sounds like if two of those little devils are good, three are better:) I've done a lot of things but surfboarding isn't one of them. Fascinating topic.
