Description
This Mercedes-Benz 280SL AUTOMATIC was parked under the porte cochere of the hotel for several consecutive mornings. Word had it that it belonged to the wife of the hotel owner.
It was interesting to watch the reaction of the hotel guests as they came out of the lobby. The men invariably went to the car and checked it out. It there were several of them they exchanged opinions about this model, maybe related experiences they had with it and so on.
When women came out of the lobby, they reacted totally different. Without exception they had the urge to pose with this car and have their picture taken.
It is a beautiful classic, and for a 'daily driver', it was in real good condition. Only one thing wrong with it, it had the steering wheel on the wrong side.

@bazza.Yeah Barry, the steering wheel is on the right side, that is the problem, it should be on the left. Makes shifting easier, but I guess it doesn't matter on this car, since it is automatic!

Cool car and shot. When I was in college, my boyfriend bought one while he was stationed in Germany and had it shipped here. He only had it about a month when some jerk rear-ended him and wrecked it.
