My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I was thinking the same thing. The lighting really enhances the angelic look. A marvelous portrait of this little guy.

Wonderful! An absolute delight!

Absolutely wonderful! I know why that look on the faces of 5-year-old kids is so fleeting: 5-year-old kids move fast. By the time you recognize that look, they're off doing something else, way over there. This is a really marvelous photo! I love the light!

Super portrait and I bet he's not that innocent!!

Beautiful. And yes, the innocence is there at 5 and after. When I talk with children in grade school about wildlife, I see the caring and often tears for the babies suffering at the hands of people. They still have hope that someone can stop people from doing mean things. They still look at the babies with awe and amazement. As excited as they are to see my screech owl, they always express sadness at his injury. Fantastic capture.

A most difficult exposure here. You captured his expression perfectly. Great job!!

Fabulous and touching capture. Your comments about the fleeting innocence reminds me of the song, 'Turn Around' as sung by Kenny Loggins.

What a wonderful portrait, Tara! This truly captures the wonder and innocence that all too soon disappears. The lighting gives this a very angelic atmosphere.

He seems to be bathed in light. It is a common state of mind at that age, but innocence can pop up much later in life too. I saw it in my father in the last few years of his life, as the mundane distractions of the "adult" world melted away into insignificance for him & he was able to appreciate the simple pleasures of life again...
