Photo is not sharp but this cougar's teeth are. This photo was shot from a distance and through vertical bars...I'll get him sharper on some future trip:-)
The cougar showing us his teeth is at the Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah, Washington.

Another excellent big cat pic. Cannot remember going here on our hols Bill :0))) x
Right you are Barbara...this was just taken on June 5th...not on our 8 month trip to Texas, Florida, etc.
What a great capture! You were paying better attention than I was. :P
This does not look a friendly cat!
My what sharp teeth you have.... Great capture Bill
Another mouth for a wide berth :) Nice one bud!
Excellent!
Superb capture my friend. God bless.
Those are some teeth, great shot.
those teeth are fearsome
Open wide is what the doctor or dentist requests. What a maw! Oh, and I bet that's Denise's favorite cougar, Kiera, letting out either a huge roar or a huge yawn in this stellar night shot, Bill. What sharp fangs you have, grandma.
I was watching tv today and saw a lion and a dog was friends. cool shot
Yikes---those are SOME teeth--what a great shot!!
Nice shot Bill!
Fantastic image!
Nice capture Bill.
Excellent timing, excellent capture of such a fantastic subject!
YAAAAWN!! What a fun capture, Bill! I think this looks super, my friend! :-D
I love cougars, but have no shots of them. So I think the shot is a good one for your gallery, with perfect timing, Bill.
Actually, while I can't tell for sure with her mouth open, I think this is Tika. She has a darker nose, and tends to hang around by herself in the caves, while the other two hang out together in other spots, but I can be (and often am) wrong. Keira has the face of impending doom, and Miksa is just a big goof. They will talk to you if you squeak and purr at them. Great shot of the shade-loving big puss, Bill!
Yes, we can see the difficulties of the distance of the shot, but semi-sharpness accepted, the gesture and power are all there. The deep dark around this feline makes it a 'growl in the night'; and her (if Denise is right, and it's Tika) teeth and neck stand out like beacons. The chiaroscuro is powerful, bill, your vision is all here with or without the sharpness you wanted; and her turning head makes her feel as if she sees you, is craning to acknowledge you, and she's growling as a way of reminding you that she's got power none of us can dream of. A true capture of the power of a great cat. Your light and dark here make it a very powerful portrait.
Wow! This one is really very impressive.. I love it.. Has to go into my Faves mate. Rob
I think that you hit QUALITY right on the nose Bill. The teeth is what this shot is all about and you are spot on!
My, Bill. I didn't know you have a cat too, only a bit larger than mine! :) This looks like Kitty when she takes a good yawn! Very good shot, considering all the factors involved. By the way, there's a 1 1/2 minute video on YouTube by a fellow who had a female cougar as pet. She lived 16 years. Perhaps something you may find interesting? The females of the species seem to be very devoted. Keep up the good work! :-)
Actually, not bad at all. I'm always a little offended when I'm taking a portrait and the subject awns in my face. Don't they know I'm making art? Nice capture.
