Description
It occurred to me some time ago that I'd never done an image of a mermaid.... Then, lo and behold, lovely Marinda swam into my life, and into my heart! Thanks so much for sending her over to play, Lil' Sis! It was a long swim, but she'll have a good home!
So what does a mermaid daydream about? Perhaps a time when her ocean home was pristine and unsullied by pollution, oil spills and the rusting wreckage of human folly.
Marinda is available at RDNA along with her expansion set, and the amazing Oceana set. Another over-the-top set of products from Pixeluna, Shadownet, and Co! I just love her tail - so unique and so poseable.
I did a bit of postwork in CS6 - where the rocks meet the water seemed a little to sharp, so I added a bit of sea foam. Try as I might, I couldn't get Poser to accurately refract the bit of her tail that's under water, so I had to resort to the liquify tool in Photoshop. I LOVE that tool! LOL

Wow this is lovely Rod, yes this set is indeed fantastic I need to get onto doing a scene or two with them, seeing this has given me an idea or two. This is quite a gorgeous scene, Big Bro! You are quite a natural when it comes to putting together large scenes. The early morning light is very impressive as well. One of the best images I've seen of Marinda, the mermaid. :-)
Great notes, love the insights! Her tail caught my attention right away. That is so unique. Love your viewpoint too. Awesome eye. We get to see so much of the beach and the vegetation. Had to research this hair too. I thought it was actually mermaid hair because of your additions. Excellent work! I bought more hair yesterday. Oh my God. I keep swearing I'm not going to buy any more hair. LOL. And since the one I bought yesterday didn't quite work out, I already have my eye on another one. I should just learn how to make the damn stuff. :)

An interesting concept. I thought she was day dreaming about being able to fly. I have never done a mermaid image either. Perhaps this fine image will encourage me to take the plunge. I'm afraid of the water - artistically speaking.
