Just a fun shot, from my phone. Race day selfie :) showing
a fun temporary tattoo handed out with the race bibs.
Saturday was my Half Marathon, I did pretty well (for me) , considering I spent the prior 2 weeks nursing a back/hip injury. I completed the 13.1 miles in 2:20:17 (10 minutes sooner than I estimated). About 75% of the runners beat me to the finish line.
The race course is all downhill. I thought it was pretty cool, and was very pleased with my accomplishment.
Sunday ... oh my gosh, every muscle fiber, cell, atom...lol.. from my hips to my toes ached in a way I never ever imagined. The mile I made myself jog Sunday, was the hardest mile I ever ran!
As soon as I can walk without hobbling ....lol... I am looking for another race to do this year :)
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
~Melinda~

You accomplished more than I did in a life time. Congrats. Aloha
Very cool !!!
wow.... so cool !
LOL@Errol That's some serious calf muscles there Melinda, I have similar, but not a runner, I have big leg muscles because I spent near to forty years as a cyclist. Gave it up in 1998 and started getting fatter, so I have just got a new bike coming this week, but I will not be anywhere near the 600 miles a month I used to do. Too many cigarettes for that. Well done again on the race my friend.
Superb capture Melinda. Congratulations on completing the Marathon. God bless.
Wow, considering the aftermath of this ordeal, you should equip your running shoes with 3-inch thick sponges. I'm satisfied with the 2 to 4 miles I walk five times a week. That's when I stop and take my photos. Cool selfie of the tattoo on your most imposing calf muscle, Melinda.
