The name comes from the german edel (=noble) and weiss (=white).

Tu fais pousser des edelweiss dans ton jardin lorrain??! Remarque, je fais pousser du basilic de Chypre sur mon balcon :-) Les seules fois où j'ai vu des edelweiss 'sauvages' , c'était sur les hauteurs du Schynige Platte, dans un jardin botanique alpin, face à la Jungfrau...Encore un clin d'oeil alpin qui donne des démangeaisons aux pieds du randonneur qui sommeille depuis trop longtemps en moi !
