Description
Nothing is so beautiful as Spring
When weeds, in wheels, shoot long and lovely and lush;
Thrush eggs look little low heavens, and thrush Through the echoing timber does so rinse and wring The ear, it strikes like lightnings to hear him sing;
The glassy peartree leaves and blooms, they brush
The descending blue; that blue is all in a rush
With richness; the racing lambs too have fair their fling.
from 'Spring' by Gerard Manley Hopkins
There are a couple of self seeded pear trees on Talbot Heath, and they reminded me of this sonnet.
There is a more 'arty' version Here

Beautiful capture and poem
Excellent shooting, are they Conference or Bartlet I wonder?
So beautiful
Very beautiful colour contrast and fantastic details.
Great shot.
Why does RR rearrange the lines in this poem? I typed it out in sonnet form as it was written and then when I click 'save' it posts it like something completely different! Grrrr!
They're my favorite Bartletts I hope, and what's this, blue sky in the UK? Lovely photo, ignoring the fact that RR overstepped their bounds and butchered your sonnet.
How beautiful they are against the blue sky! Lovely capture!
Both are lovely. I do love spring!
Wonderful. The pink and white and green are beautiful against that blue sky.
Lovely blossoms!
Beautiful poem and photos. :)

Pretty colors against the blue sky. I liked Hopkins' sonnet!
