Description
Captured back on 5/3/07, almost seven years ago, at the Pavilion of Wings, an annual event featuring butterflies and moths, staged on the beautiful premises of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
It must be wonderful to squat down like that, and I assume at her young age she was able to stand up with little or no difficulty. Her youngster was a complete gentleman throughout their visit. Actually, all of the kids were well behaved at the Pavilion, a far cry from the screeching out of control urchins at the aquariums I have attended.

Nice work on these fun captures, Harry.
Fantastic shots my friend !!!
fantastic captures of these people !!!
Excellent candids, Harry; I can't see what she's shooting, but I'll bet she got some good shots. Her son looks quite impressively well-behaved for someone of his age! Nicely captured and worked!
Butterflies have a calming effect, maybe. Excellent photo, very like an illustration for a book.
Another delightful human candid from you, and the child looks gently immersed, which has to be wonderful for his mother while she shoots. A very sweet capture. In the first, she looks out, as if to find something; and she's totally facing her son in an always vigilant and protective posture. In the second, she's shooting---the natural outcome of this montage---and her son doesn't budge. How many young ones would be that patient while their parent goes through the long ups and downs of a photo shoot...very sweet moment. And the boy has the same coloring---in a few bands of his shirt---as the flowers in front of him. Delightful candids, and there's real love in the captures...fitting for a butterfly show, since butterflies often symbolize love of some kind. Love the orange-ish hues too. A delightful set. And btw, kneeling does seem to 'go' after a certain age. I just turned 65, and I can't kneel like this without paying a serious price---one of them being the terror that I'll stay in that position for WEEKS, while photographers gather around and take shots of ME (and post them in their galleries, saying, "note this odd specie of animal---he kneels, he's in dire pain, yet he hasn't moved from that position since February. Curious!")
Lovely compositions..nice feeling between mother and son and gentle colours add to the harmony.
Great candid! Nothing like teaching them young lol Good one! Rob
