Description

First photo of New Year. A lesson in Depth Of Field to me. Ball out of focus here makes this not ideal to me. Shot pretty wide open but.. that is the trade off. Happy New Year! :-)

Well the cat in the focus I guess and you nailed it right where it counts on those eyes. What a beautiful cat Fred.

What a beautiful puss! I don't mind the out of focus ball, but when I get shots like this I shoot a few of them with different focus points and stack and blend them. That usually does it, but it's a bit harder when you're working with a cat, since they can be finicky about sitting still when they know you want them to! Nicely done, Fred, and Happy New Year!

Photography is often about trade -offs, the light isn't always what we want or sometimes need, A lovely composition and the cat in focus is just fine to me, it almost looks like the cat is thinking "well that's it for another year" :) I like it Fred :)

Happy Kitty Year, my friend! :) That's a delightful picture of your furry friend. I don't mind the ball being out of focus, unless the cat is focused on the ball, which it isn't. Nicely done!

You've photographed with totally open aperture (1.6) which gives the maximum depth of field. Thus is achieved interesting results. Very well done. Happy New Year!
