Description
A snap that I managed on Christmas Day of my Great-Nephew Kaden. Not too inspired this season.
My first Christmas without my Dad was a hard one. Thinking of him during this break from work. I miss him dearly.
Bless you all!

Superb capture my friend. God bless.
It is a very fine portrait!
Excellent mate. The selective colour works well here bud. I know the hurt mate. It does get easy, but never goes away. Bless you Fred.
Wonderful portrait. Prayers to your Dad. Aloha
This is a top class portrait Fred. I am sure your dad will be happy wherever he is.
My condolences Fred I lost my father 4 years ago and still think of him with great love and affection, it is always hard to lose someone you love my heart goes out to you, a lovely candid shot of your Great-Nephew.
My sympathies for the loss of your father. My mother could die any time. Hospice didn't expect her to still be here. I'm glad you have this nephew and possibly other nephews and nieces to help fill the void. Nice portrait.
big hugs to you!
handsome young man. the passing of my mother did not hit me hard until one day I almost tried to call her on the phone
A wonderful portrait of this handsome young man. I pray your pain lessens and leaves you with just good memories.
Beautiful boy my friend, excellent work!
The first year is always the hardest ... everything is still fresh, and you haven't had time to adjust. It gets better ... I'm sure I remember pictures from about four or five years ago of a little boy ... could it be the same one? Kaden is quite grown up, and the other child couldn't have been more than two or three. (Well ... it's probably the same one. LOL! They do grow up fast!) He looks like a delightful boy. You must really enjoy him! :)
Big hugs for you, dear Fred. It is hard to loose a person you love so much. This is a wonderful capture. Hugs for all day. Di. xx
A nice shot of this young lad Fred! Time will help with your father. All the best to you!
What a handsome looking lad. Yes, I do understand how you feel, Fred. It is so hard in the beginning. As long as you remember him, he isnt really gone. He is still inside you :)
TERRIFIC SHOT
Lovely image. I'm sure your dad would have loved this pic.
Hugs to you, Fred. We each grieve for lost loved ones in our own way and yet we all must move through certain steps of that process. Allowing ourselves to do that at our own pace is very healthy. I sincerely hope for you that the completion of that process leaves you with the wonderful feeling of knowing that your father is really still with you. His love embodied in your heart and wonderful memories of times shared imprinted in your mind will keep him alive within you. Even 6 years after the loss of my mother that there are still times when I cry because she is not physically here any longer. But, I can say it is a choice I now allow myself for just a few minutes because I feel like I deserve the sweet realization that my connection to her remains as strong today as it was when she was alive. A few moments to recognize the pain feels healthy to me and then I focus on the warm glow of the good memories and the knowledge that my memories of her keeps her presence with me always. I hope for you to find your solace in this New Year. :) Sincerely and warmly meant...Katherine (SunriseGirl)
