This was modeled in Rhino and rendered in Keyshot 4

Very realistic and precious object
Interesting and well done, I explored a bit of gems rendering in the past and find this tutorial, it's for "Mental Ray" but some trick are good for any software: http://mentalraytips.blogspot.ca/2009/11/fire-and-ice-rendering-diamonds-and.html
