I've heard the term "takers" thrown around by more than a few of our politicians for a while now... I dislike the term a lot.
Lets all be "takers" for a moment during the holiday season and take some time to remember those who are more unfortunate than we are..

Love the sentiment and the image is superb. The red overtones knocked me out. The following is based on my experiences as a mentor: The takers may end up getting something for nothing but the givers sleep better at night with a clean conscious.

Well done message, Seth, and one that's all too often overlooked this time of year. I did a similarly themed one a couple of years ago with a young girl called "Random Acts" (pg. 6 in my gallery IIRC). Your lighting on this is exquisite... the whole darn thing is, actually! Wow, what a fantastic image! Yes, while the bourgeois sick loll around in front of the warm fireplace, fighting other for dear life ... We should give every assistance, Christmas is the time of giving ... But these poor people need not just at Christmas time support ... A fabulous image with very humane message!

I know what you mean, and a very piongnant image!!... unfortunately we have what I call 'takers ' here... people who sponge off charities because they can, not because they need it
A sign of the times we are living in...and perhaps a glimpse into the future for those of us unlucky enough to be born into a middle class, which is rapidly disappearing, or a working class, also disappearing. Soon we will all be fashioning our own signs, staking out a place on the corner, and calling it our job. Sad...this country has gone downhill significantly, from the haves, the have nots, and the have nones. OXOXOXO Jane
Powerful image and excellent postwork. I hear you when it comes to that term. I'm pretty well disgusted with both parties these days, but the Republicans seem to be scratching the bottom even more than usual. Barely any politician anymore know what it's like to be in another 's shoes and do not even want to try. Well have a Merry and a Happy New Year.

yup, so tired of that term...getting so i am really disliking so much about this country...though, it has truly warmed the cockles of my heart to see some very lovely stories in the news--there really are some wonderful folks scurrying about this holiday season...wonderful scene, Seth--the dark desolation which is the reality of so many is very disturbing...

Wonderful commentary and a fine work that puts a human face on the hateful word. Yes, words are often bantered about without ever considering the reality of who those words are talking about. Even sadder, the words are often spewed forth as a means of riling up a base of fearful people for the purpose of either getting a vote, or even more ironically getting a donation for a PAC.
