Description

In the early days of humanity's first foray to interstellar space, they established outposts and small stations at nearly every planet they could, partly due to the excitement of finally being able to study an extrasolar world first-hand, but also because life-supporting worlds close by were seemingly hard to come by. As the exploration expanded, of course, things would change, and those early outposts often were abandoned to move outwards towards the ever-expanding frontier. Those derelict stations sometimes lingered, forgotten, to orbit their worlds in a silent vigil. Wearing down, slowly crumbling, and sometimes enduring more than their creators thought possible. -------------- Station modeled in Bryce from components I'd previously assembled. Background stars and planet made in Photoshop CS3, Compositing and other postwork (including the "age and wear" effects) also in Photoshop.
