Description
Blowin' in the Wind
Tumbleweed rolls
Across rippled sand
Quick breezes
Kick it along
Erratic
As a child
Learning soccer
Dust devil
Hot and fast
Dances in the sun
Whirling
Twirling
Picking up
Bits of desert duff
Moving here
To over there
Low dunes
Shaped by wind-blown erosion
Bits of the world
Tumbling across high plains
Not destructive
So much as
Rearranging
Just the desert
Humming to itself
Reinventing itself
Fiddling with the details
While the larger picture
Never changes
Desert decorations
Blowing in the wind

Beautiful poem, Tara :-)
Excellent work... enjoyed this! :-)
A very cool poem, Tara! You just have so many talents, dear! This is lovely! Great illustration, too! Wow - ArtRage - haven't played with that for a long time....
So climb up the mountain top and start to Blow, Gabriel blow, Go on an' blow, Gabriel blow, I want to join your happy band, And play all day in the promised land So blow, Gabriel blow...... Cole Porter
This is beautiful. The images of the desert it brings up are so vivid and alive. I'm not doing the challenge this month. I couldn't really think of anything good, it was too hard of a challenge. But I do like the ones that did get posted. So unless the muse hits me on the head in the next several days, yea, skipping this one.
"Not destructive So much as Rearranging" What a cosmic idea! Nothing is ever destroyed, only repurposed or rearranged. This is a wonderful poem. You can really see the wind and its effect on the dessert in the mind's eye.
Very nice!!!
Wonderful writing Tara. God bless.
Lovely job my friend
What a delightful poem. I love the vision of it.
