These rough and weathered edges always remind me of geologic formations. I can imagine an ant hiking through the canyons.
Amazing what the elements will do!!
Wild!
What a great spot and capture! The end grain view of this post looks like layered rock, as seen on that splendid, magnificent, imposing, dignified and high ranking canyon, I forget the name of. Only kidding!
Nice subject!
A lovely nature to this wood and a haven for insects.
I love the texture the wood in decay is creating :-) Superb shot, Andrea :)
That's sure seen some weather!
Really love the wood textures.
Amazing POV great textures
Definitely seen better bays.
Erosion at its finest in this splendid POV pic of the olde post, Andrea. Love the perspective.
Excelent !
Hope it holds.... Aloha
cool pov
Most interesting. This doesn't surprise me...this is the same "erosion pattern" we see on the drift wood logs along the Puget Sound in Washington.
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
Beautiful! I love the fan formation. Your photograph makes me want to touch, touch, touch!!
I see a fan opening to protect the maiden's face from tactless gazes
Cool shot!
Interesting POV
I like this version of the great pattern in the checking wood. The FlickR version is a wonderful look out over the ocean!
This happened to my garden trellis in my old home just before it fell down... thankfully I had already moved out, already had enough problems without that adding to the list. Nice capture.. the elements will always have their way.
