Description
Today is Veterans Day and as a veteran myself I want to thank all veterans for their service to their country, including veterans of allied countries. On Saturday, November 6, the City of Mesa honored 23 fallen RAF soldiers who gave their life while undergoing flight training at Falcon Field, Arizona during World War II.
For the Mesa City ceremony they had a retired RAF pilot as an invited guest speaker, they had a 21-gun salute, bag pipes and an aircraft fly-over including a T-6, a B-25, a B-17 and a F-16.
I also want to thank everyone for the many kind comments to my last upload 'Recon Marine'. At the time when I was in Vietnam I was totally unaware of the scope of our involvement. I now know that every branch in our military has special operators, as have many allied nations.
This picture is of Soldiers' National Cemetery where U.S. President Abraham Lincoln gave his Gettysburg address on Thursday, November 19, 1863 at the dedication of this cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This picture was taken on 3 June 2012,
