Description
As stated before, this is the tent that I took with me when I went hunting. With the season being warm and dry, I only knew that the tent kept the bugs out.
a couple weekends after I got home, the remnants of the typhoon hit the west coast. I decided to see if this tent was waterproof.
heavy sigh! nope, the seams leaked and so after three days of wet weather, after it cleared up, I took the tent over to my work and, with permission from my boss, set the tent up to dry and air out.
Once that was done I sprayed the entire tent with water-repellant and then sealed the seams. It should be better in the rain.
On a positive note, the method of staking the tent and tarp worked to keep the tent from blowing away in the strong winds.
I know that this isn't the most exciting image I've ever posted, but it is a part of my experiences in life
Have a nice day

Nice shot! Every tent I have had seems to have leak(s) on the bottom seams.
I hope it holds up! I had a similar problem with my roof here!
Well, it will be waterproof now! As far I remember, this kind of tent remains dry if there is nothing touching the fabric inside. You must keep your things at one inch of distance of the inner sides, at least.
Cool looking tent...keep that coffee pot hot!
All the tents I had back in the day used to leak...hope the repellant works!!!
It's super interesting for me. I love camping, and am interested in a Hilleberg Soulo.
At least you found out about the leaks in comfort. Nice tent.
this is a nice tent. another hint I learned to keep dry... don't put anything under the tent. the rain needs to soak into the ground and if you have the tent on top of a tarp you will be sitting in a puddle. ask me how I know this. LOL!
cool
Superb capture and i enjoyed every ones advice on what they learned having made us of a tent. God bless.
I like the tent, nice.
Nice shot and great info Mike.
I think it's a cool photo Mike, and I enjoyed learning that there is a way to fix a tent that leaks.
Interesting and fantastic capture !
Very cool shot Mike.
Hope the wet stays out next time!!
bummer about the leaks, Mike.
Wather is so nice but only on the right place Nice pic ((5++))
Looks and sounds like you have fixed it.
nice capture
It is best when a tent is waterproof indeed ;-) Nice shot!
I remember sleeping in tents. Now we have an RV, LOL!
Great shot of Your tent Mike!! Bummer it leaks.
Nice shot, Mike!!
lovely, could have done with that today when we had allot of Showers while out walking,
I have often used these kinds of tents. Problem with spraying with water repellant is that the tent may not now breathe properly and condensation from you will form on inside and can even cause rain on inside. Usually these tents only need to be sealed along the seams. This I too know from experience. Advice of no ground sheet is also good advice, as is making sure nothing touches side of tent.
Very beautiful tent!!!!
Very cool image Mike, awesome scene!
Bet that was a lot of work sealing it all up. Good luck with it when you try it in the wet!
hope it good now. cool looking tent
