Description
Captured circa 1982, in beautiful Long Beach, California, adjacent to the RMS Queen Mary.
These are five heavily postworked fotos, captured on film under very poor lighting conditions with my old Pentax-built Sears KS-2 SLR, within a huge dome structure specifically constructed to house this awesome behemoth. The Spruce Goose is not a red orange color, and just looks that way due to the sexy esoteric lighting provided. I have no idea why they chose to display it that way. Even with the dark milieu, you can still see the folks, dwarfed by the big guy, all lined up to go inside to take a peek at the vast interior. I also went inside, but for some reason didn't take any shots. Maybe it was prohibited, I don't remember from 30+ years ago.

A breathtaking sight!
Fantastic work on another amazing collage, Harry.
Amazing plane. Wish I could see it.
Interesting photos - but I find it odd that the registration numbers differ. The Wiki states - (also known as the "Spruce Goose"; registration NX37602)
cool
I had noticed Bill (Bmac) had been posting some photos of the Spruce Goose and that it was now located in Oregon I believe is where he was. I was curious why it had been moved. Great photos Harry nice crops and close ups
Another great set of shots of the golden goose, Harry; maybe that's why they chose that lighting colour? Despite the age of the shots, it still looks quite handsome, and really dwarfs the humans all around it. Well done!
Marvelous captures and fabulous plane !
Great shots again. Lots of postwork in this one, well done!
Another good show here Harry. It is fun for me to see how it was displayed in LA. Apparently the folks paying the bills in LA didn't want to keep things going...particularly since attendance had really dwindled toward the end.
More fantastic shots from the archive mate, and they need to be seen! Magnificent! Great details, thanks for showing us and I'm getting there.. Cheers for the mail mate, yes its a great film indeed! Rob
