# 01 ~ WATER BIRDS ~ by Jim Blower, NSW
(material used: 20mm round forged iron bar)
his own words:
Conceived in the Pilbara, forged in The Byron Hinterland en route to warmer northern climates. When working through steel in art based objects, great care is essential in conveying a sympathy towards the medium. Using contemporary techniques I aim to create flowing lines and a concise development of movement in each element. Through considered transitions in physical connections and a playful use of the surrounding environment, I encourage a lasting memory of my pieces in situ.

beautiful setting for a festival like this and superb photo, the sculpture is great and remind me to the sixties:-)
So graceful! I do enjoy your sculpture festival. :)
Whimsey :) Great shot.
Wonderful capture. Creative poses.
Wonderful POV!
Nice shot!
Very nice!
Great! It's that time again, I do enjoy these pics of yours. The artist is a bit serious with his words. The work is easier to look at!
Beautiful eyecatcher. I also like the flowing shapes of his works. Oh ... the spring starts with you * sigh * and here is wet cold weather .... * brrr *
This are great.
Delicately lovely Brigitte.
Great capture!
Marvelous capture ... Very very well done !
A great way to spend some time down at the beach and checking all the intriguing sculptures ! I dig the flowing shapes and how Surfer's Paradise is nicely framed with arched neck...kool ! Looking forward to more from the annual Swell Festival ! ~Cheers~
Nice!!!
Very cool work Great capture
Splendid capture with the sculpture in front of the sea!
fabulous capture
Great capture! Springtime! Wonderful! I am sure it will be a very interesting festival!
Jim Blower created such smooth lines when you think about him using 20mm round forged iron bars. Cool how he added the eyes. A fantastic photo with that lovely skyline - maybe Brisbane or the Emerald City of "OZ"! :)
Sorry, Dana that isn't Brisbane, - it's the other end, the North-end of the Gold Coast with the highrisers at Surfers Paradise, while Currumbin is the South-end of the Gold Coast, good guess and pretty close! ;)
Beautifully done I look forward to the rest of your photos
I like these - humorous and whimsical. Looking forward to more in the series - I remember your last series.
SUPERB IMAGE
This Jim Blower is very well managed with what he wanted to achieve with his art. And you made the most beautiful picture of it, dear Brigitte. Such a fantastic view, and the background is so beautiful chosen. Hooray for you.
Great shot you got a bit of everything in this shot!!! Nice work
There are many reasons I really like the sculptures of the birds... First: one can see what they rapresent. Second they are very elegant in their shapes. Third: they aren't invasive, you can still see the panorama through them. Fourth: they are very well fitting in the scene... Err... I'd better stop here... I really like them... And I like How you composed the picture
absolutely interesting shot
