Description
For a number of years, we have been experiencing a drought and very hot summers in my part of the world. This has led to a decline in plant life. That in turn has led to a decrease in the populations and varieties of insects.
Even I have avoided being outside for very long in the heat of summer. The result of all this is that I don't get as many opportunities to photograph as many bugs as I once did.
But I do get a few, lol. Here is a medium sized grasshopper I came across a week or so ago. He was very patient with me as I fiddled with the new camera. I was having difficulty in getting a precise focus where I wanted it. Of the 20 or so shots I took of him, this is the best.

This is an enchanting portrait, Lee! It was hot here in July too, and so much so I didn't even go to the beach!
It gets sunny and hot here but not as hot as the mainland. We have the ocean breeze to cool us down. I've been in the states....its hot! Keep cool... This guy don't seem to mind the heat. Nice shot. Aloha
