Description
A little prince? Near Gate 1 of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.
This is apparently the white satin suit, supplemented with a spangled hat, of a Turkish Muslim boy that is getting ready to being circumcised. The circumcision is normally performed on a Sunday (this picture was taken on a Saturday) on boys between eight to ten years of age. For the cicumcision ceremony [sunnet] the boy also wears a red satin sash emblazoned with the word 'Masallah' [What wonders God has willed] (Source: Lonely Planet, Turkey, 2001).

Certainly looks that way, interesting contrast in the clothing, white of the 'prince' vs black of the women!
I have to say that circumcision between eight and ten years old is more on the side of torture. I do like his outfit and there is no way he could run wearing those shoes!
