Description
Hi Friends,
On a hot summer day I was cycling to a show, where they showed a lot of old-timers.
There was also very nice old music, and while dancing along all the old 'carts',
plus singing with the music, here and there I made a picture of the visitors,
and of course of the cars.
What you see here is an Overland Speedster, which was built in the USA on september 15, 1912.The car-a four cylinder with a capacity of 4,000 cc has three gears and reaches a top speed of 85 km. per hour. Young Americans (of rich descent) in the early last century bought this car, not so much to show off, but more to racing. The car gets-100 years after construction date- still the maximum speed and looks like new. That is only due to hundreds of hours of restoration work at the body and engine up to and including the smallest screw.
Coincidentally, Karel found this information, because the owners of these car had posted this on the Internet, because of the centenary of their old-timer.
(haha, but I translated it into English) ;-)
Thank you very much for your continued interest, and your support,
it's very much appreciated by me.
p.s. I don't know if I choose the right genre, maybe it had to be : transportation(?)

what a beautiful motor
Mies, this is a marvelous capture and I'm simply delighted that you shared it with us. I've never seen a car like this one before and I'm so glad you shared a little bit about it with us. You seem to have had a really fun time at this show and I hope you will share more photos from it with us.
GREAT CAPTURE
Works in either Genre I would think. Love these old Autos, that was definitely a Muscle Car of the time. Peace
What a great old car and a lovely shot
Yup, who cares about genre ... it's a beauty anyways ...
Len's right. Very good English Mies, and a smashing picture of a bygone age. I should think it attracted a lot of attention, and whoever did it up has something to be proud of. I hope you are going to send us more pics of the event?
Its historical to me and a really nice shot Jacomina.
a great antique and photo
I really enjoyed both looking at and reading about this beautiful car. Very interesting information and great translation. I started thinking about the young rich Americans in a different age. I pictured them in their sporting, and rather daring attire, probably scandalizing many around them. This was the year of the sinking of the Titanic. I wonder if they knew someone on that ship. This was two years before Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated and the world changed. So for me, 'historical' was the perfect Genre to put it in, because that is the way my thoughts went. :) Lovely capture. I like dappled effect of the light and the rich colors.
I can just see us in this car, Mies! Your lovely red hair would be perfect in there, and I can wear one of my outrageous hats!
nice shot
What a beautiful car! Splendid capture! :)
Real oldie!
gorgeous shot
Very cool car and sunny paint job!
Very nice. I have one of those old fire extinguishers!
So sporty! I reminds me of an admonishment to young men in a book I had ... 1928 or thereabouts. It was said that a young man should NEVER race a train with a lady in the car. :P
He is beautiful and valuable ..Perfect details.
What a beautiful old-timer. I love to see such old cars. An excellent shot!!
Exellent in beeld gebracht.

Now that is a really awesome car and it is exactly 101 years old, so I would concider it as a piece of history :-) Wonderful shot,. Jacomina :)))
Hi Dee, Helle! That's so funny what you saw: : "exactly 101 years old"! Thank you for mention it, and now it's about time to make a ride together, huh? :)
Very nice capture of this oldie (oldie but goldie ;) ) Jacomina.
I am ready to go cruising down the road in this! Sunrise and Smiley took a little trip Stopped at a pond and took a little dip Got a bottle of wine and took a few sips Then someone else had to drive home Giggle Giggle Giggle
This is a spectacular photo my friend and the perfect POV for this lighting!
Wonderful capture and very cool information! Thanks for sharing both with us
Great capture. Nice light and contrast control
