Description
The Tower of Justice is the tallest structure in the Topkapi Palace, making it clearly visible from the Bosphorus.
The tower was probably originally constructed under Mehmed II and then renovated and enlarged by Suleiman I between 1527-1529.
The tower symbolizes the eternal vigilance of the Sultan against injustice (Source: Wikipedia).

Wonderful piece of history.
Superb capture my friend. God bless.
Kind of menacing finger :-)
Shining.
It's name seems kind of ominous to me. Intriguing building though.
fabulous capture
Interesting.. as I am commenting backwards.. sorry about that... the tower looks very European in influence, quite a contrast vs the ornate porch which seems to have a strong eastern influence.. one doesn't quite go with the other for me. An interesting photo, Sig.
Impressive photo my friend and incredible that some of these old buildings are still standing.
Yes, that tower was influenced by several different periods, and later add-ons weren't really concerned with matching architecture!
Gorgeous shot!
I noticed the same as tigertim. The tower would probably look right at home in Baltimore or Philadelphia! Fascinating shot.
Very nice! erland
