a great capture. I am afraid to be out directly in the path of a lightning storm as the strikes can travel miles horizontally
Ya any place away from my home I would be more careful. There is a baseball field near by that was build to attract the lightening away from the players just in case. All my life if any lightening hit near by, it was to one of those poles. They say lightening never hits twice.. Laughing not true.

Very cool shot. We had some lightning here today, but nothing I was able to capture with my camera...
Thanks!! I wish you good luck. I love watching lightening. I use a tripod with slow shutter speed helps get in more light and more chances of lightening being photographed.

I so love this. Photographing lightning makes me feel so good. When I was in Colorado, I used to drive through the forest and find trees that had been hit by lightning. Then I would look around the base for fulgurites. These are chunks of glass made out of fused sand and shaped like the electrical charge as it worked its way into the ground.
how neat! I will have to remember that next time I go up the mountains :)
