Description

but that's because we have to have a human in charge - it's the law. (Captain) I see. And precisely what powers do I have, then? I presume I can give orders concerning our destination and objectives? (Klank) Afraid not, ma'am; they're pre-determined by our computer program. But B-Co will get you a nice cup of tea if you ask her to. (Captain) So I'm just a token female, then? (Klank) Token human, ma'am; nothing sexist about the law. But in view of the fact that you are female we have a Morg bot on board who has been re-tooled to take care of any special services the Captain may require. (Captain) Indeed? So why can't I have a human second-in-command, then? (Klank) Regulations, ma'am. Two humans will not necessarily devote all their time and attention to their duties as officers. (Captain) What duties, Klank? (Klank) I don't make the rules, ma'am.
