We have these all over Elk ISland park to keep the bison where they're supposed to be but they still find ways around them. We call them Texas Gates which makes me think they just might be a US creation...who'da thunk?
Called Cattle grids in the UK the first one that comes to mind is at Woburn Abbey a big stately home with deer park, meant to keep deer in the park
