Description
Captured 8/2/13, early morn, about a quarter of a mile from home.
Plumeria (common name Frangipani) is a genus of flowering plants in the dogbane family, Apocynaceae. It contains seven or eight species of mainly deciduous shrubs and small trees. They are native to Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America as far south as Brazil, but can be grown in tropical and sub-tropical regions.

BTW, I've received virtually no comment or posting ebots or email over the last two days, so my failure to respond isn't because I'm ignoring you folks. It's simply because i've been left incommunicado with the rest of the world.
Arrivederci, baby, and enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.

Beautiful flowers. very nice photograph :)
What a great POV for these marvelous tropical beauties! Excellent control of lighting and detail, my friend...my bots are coming, although some are coming very late indeed (as in days late!)
Amazing capture of this very lovely flower, Harry.
Very beautiful!
very lovely
Terrific! A very beautiful image, Harry.
wow! you forgot to include the smell?
Harry, re the ebots: RR has gone a little nutso in the last few days; and some ebots arrive days late, as Denise says. I suggest you visit each upload several times, as that's the only way you'll know that people commented. (And come by for a few days after, to catch the late stragglers, lol.) (I did a comment on your "Legg Lake 6" and "A Most Unusual Abode" just now, in case the bots landed in Madagascar---just so you know. There are fav's too.) Anyway, to the flower: A beautiful capture of overlapping and swirling petals, shot right "in the center" of things, with the petals swooping their way to the edge of the pic, and beautiful soft textures, shadows and lights. And the hues are caught beautifully too, in all their variety. (The pic demands full size to see the soft detail as well as the hues.) And you let the smaller---or more distant---petals taper off to the right: I like that choice very much, allowing the alit section to shine on the left. I love the shot; it takes its place with all the other flower-series you've posted here, filled with your ongoing dialogue with the language, dance and wisdom of flowers. More beautiful work.
Love the natural light!!
Beautiful flowers they are... Aloha
Oh, you know how much I LOVE these beauties--and you caught them so very well!!
Well done. I never really new what type of flowers these were; now I do. :)

A real delight that I must be honest I've never heard of! A fine shot Harry. Rob
