Very nice... And so much possible interpretations... Has he 'borrowed' the dinghy to run away aboard ( bad shipowner, ribald crew, icky fare, grungy bunks... Or all together)... Has he 'borrowed' the dinghy to come aboard ( running away from home - crabing parents, vixenishly sisters, to much homework, a bit of spirit of adventure) Or... Deck shrubbed (ckecked off) Galley cleaned (ckecked off) Sails patched (ckecked off) Captains cat feeded (ckecked off) Snuggling with the boatswain ( to finish)...
