Description

For one of my oldest friends here at RR and fantastic artist. Wikipedia says: The architect of the geodesic dome was Richard Buckminster Fuller. The building originally formed an enclosed structure of steel and acrylic cells, 250 feet (76 meters) in diameter and 200 feet) (62 meters) high. It was built for the Worlds Fair called EXPO 67 with a theme of ‘Man and His World’. Montreal created new islands in the St. Lawrence River along with enlarging the existing Ile Sainte-Helene. The geodesic dome was built as the USA Pavilion for EXPO 67 and it was directly across the water from the USSR pavilion to generate competition. Another scanned slide and I am still in the learning curve. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

a striking structure Dana, we have something similar, Biomes in a disused china clay pit in Cornwall housing flora from all over the world. Goes under the name of the Eden Project, its a huge attraction over here, worth having a look at the website
