happy Friday everyone...I was kinda down yesterday so I decided to do some shots. the other swallowtail butterfly I posted is a Canadian tiger...they are common here??? that's mostly what I've seen so far this year then finally yesterday a variety I have never seen. I looked it up and it's just called a 'giant swallowtail'...they really like that bush it's on and it must make them feel really good because they will not stay put. I had a difficult time getting a decent shot and I chose this one because it is so closeup although it is kinda hidden behind the bud....sweet bud...hopefully there will be other types come later...I saw it again early this am but then it was gone...the Canadian ones are here all the time and the black ones....any way hopefully everyone will have a safe weekend. they put out a terrorist alert for mericans so I hope no one gets hurt...have a happy time but please stay alert...

Great shot! I like it almost like a background element. I tried for years to photograph a Canadian Tiger Swallowtail but could never get near them, then I started waiting around lots of flowers and when they came in I was just part of the scenery.
