Description
It is such a joy to have the insects back in force after the long cold spring.
To misquote Samuel Rogers: "The bees' hum soothes my drowsy ear".
BTW
I remember being given this as an example of a transferred epithet, rather early in my school life at about 8 years old.
I can't necessarily remember what I watched on the the box last night, but I shall never forget that!

beautiful
Wonderful shot of a bumble bee, they are always welcome in the garden, it's interesting when they get drunk, they end up bumping into you and crashing to the ground like a distressed helicopter, to sleep off the effects before setting off again.
Lovely shot and I too welcome back the bees.
Great capture he has a lot of body hair lol.
beautiful capture of bumblebee!
Excellent capture, what a beautiful bee!
wonderful micro
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
A real beauty!!
Nice composition and colors
beautiful flower/bee shot!
GREAT SHOT
Such a lovely shot, Andrea :)
Great capture of this fine worker. the only ones I don't like seeing are the wasps and hornets... I realize they serve a purpose, however....
Oh, you really hit a sensitive spot, with me never even having any to photograph, with your statement about the insects being back. Anyway, I like the mauve and texture of the bloom Mr Bumble is atop of.
A rather unattractive name for such a pretty flower. A super image. Your visitor seems to be in bee heaven.
Brilliant.
Great pic colorful too Hugs Susan
A very fluffy type of 'hair' on this bumble and I love the color of the Scabious!
Perhaps it's my ear I hear snoring, rather than my husband. Hmmmmm ... I like your composition -- the way you positioned the flower in the frame fits my idea of the way things should be. It's beautiful!
Looks like he's having a good feed.
