Description
"Old Soldiers Never Die,
They Just Fade Away."
This was especially true of my dad, who was a soldier for 27 years, tough as nails, and survivor of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He ended his days with Alzheimers. The one silver lining to this dark cloud was that for the first time in my life, he told me he loved me. Always too tough to say the words before.....I usually do upbeat images, but just began to wonder what the divine Atlas would look like aged, and then, of course, he reminded me of my own warrior dad.....

Very beautiful and touching image!! Wonderful work!
Such a poignant tribute and recollection of your dad. Sometimes we need to give way to what the heart tells us, for art is not just all beauty... it is the artist's way of self-expression.
