The other evening I found my little man (whose almost seven, now) standing before one of our hayfields watching the field rather intently. When I approached him and asked what so had his attention, without looking away, he asked me if I knew where the breeze, that made the grass sway, came from. Before I could answer, he told me that it came from Mother Nature as she danced through the hayfield - the movement of her body and her skirts where what made the wind, that in turn made the field appear to dance. I asked Auzzie how he knew this, and finally he turned to me. He was now wearing the most incredulous look I could possibly imagine a child of six perfecting. As if I should know better (which in all honesty, I should), he said that Mother Nature had told him in one of their chats, and that they talk all the time because "She is always in my mind, and She is always in my heart. I'm going to go dance now!!" And with that he was off and running into the hayfield, arms up high, singing and dancing to his little heart's content. I just stood and watched, and wore the biggest smile you can imagine. My boy never ceases to amaze me, and I love him dearly for it.
