Description
As the sun sets
Somehow we made it through another day
We walk away from their grave
Or wherever they are laid in our hearts
It’s our time to mourn
Our grief is so deep
Our hearts so full of tears
That a few overflow
And run down our cheeks
But this won’t last forever
Although it seems like it
Then we will move to that wonderful place
Where we tell our children
Our grandchildren
Old friends
And new ones
All about them
How much we love them
And in the back of our minds
There is a little comfort
Believing we will see them again
This is for my friend Mona “ Mia Mona “ to me. She doesn’t post on this site but she should she is an amazing poet. She recently lost her dad who she was very close too. I hope this is a little comfort to her as she thinks of him today but this is also for anyone who has lost someone they love very much. I hope you have a good day too.

Very beautiful dedication and tribute Randy
Very moving words. Today is Memorial Day in the United States. It is a day set aside to remember the sacrifices our citizen soldiers made throughout our history. Naturally your poem made me think of my father, a veteran of World War II and gone now six years.
