Description
The idea of this piece came to me after seeing a documentary about Jackson Pollock's studio and the floor encrusted in paint almost being a work of art after years of painting by him on unstretched canvases on the ground. Most artist's working with real media use a cloth to clean brushes and that cloth becomes almost a piece of non-conscious abstract art in it's own right over a period of time with many colours, Remember the door of Francis Bacon's studio at Reece Mews?, as historical as the art he produced.. now in a Gallery in Ireland.. the whole studio was photographed and tagged and transported over there and recreated down to the very last piece of paper and torn photograph. This reminds us the studio the artist's worked can be considered just as important, and this is a kind of mock-up of such thinking.

Very nice ! Abs. and colors !
Interesting! I saw that programme too.
There was a six part series back in the 90's called "This is Modern Art" with Mathew Collings, it was also a book and it has been reissued a few times since then, it would be good if he made a follow-up to it. I'm a massive fan of Kandinsky, I studied his life and work, there is very little footage of him painting due to the time period but this is one piece... http://youtu.be/T8yk1Z1224o
Interesting!
