Oh bloody HELL!!! I HATE those freakin' things! And I've seen more than a few in my life...once in Arizona I saw one out of the corner of my eye...I thought it was a rat at first, but no --- it was one of those damn wolf spiders...about 6 inches long...UGH!

crap! i would have freaked out! can't stand spiders. cool color it has and great shot, the wolf spiders were i live don't get that big, but they hop like grasshoppers at you.

I am a HUGE spider advocate - always trying to convince people that they are our best, first line defense against pests. I am SO GLAD you didn't kill her Rod! GOOD MAN! Even my wife Holly saves spiders from people when she can. She grosses out the ladies at work when she scoops up a spider in a cup and takes it outside, lol. She was quite impressed that you didn't kill this lovely but instead took her outside and set her free. Nice going buddy!

Great photo!! Cool looking spider.....I don't care much for spiders....my sister is terrified of them. When I was a kid....my brother and I would walk around our yard looking for spider webs....then we'd find some ants, and throw the ants onto the web, and watch the spider weave a web around the ant....."LOL" ..... we did goofy things when we were kids. My favorite insect is the praying mantis.....they are just the coolest looking bug that I've ever seen!! "lol"!!! Great job Rod!!

LOL, @ the Tara this is the chair you were just sitting in. Did you pick him up and carry him outside? I do that to some creepy crawlers sometimes, depends, but any little fast spiders creep me out and have to die.

Yikes! That is a big one. About every 10 years I see one that big in the basement. I too will put a glass over them and escort them to the woods. Then all the other insects come back DOH!

Oh she's a beauty! I love spiders, especially wolf spiders. To my eye they look absolutely perfectly "Predatory". This one is incredibly aggressive-looking, and must be an absolute holy terror to all other insects around. Great shot, She stands out brilliantly against the color of chair.
