rendered in Bryce (for a terribly long time)
texture is one of my experiments...
it's a large number of blue colors for the surface and Fuzzy and Additive turned on... ambiance is at 100% diffusion somewhere aroung 50%
some post is done in Photoshop to enhance the glow and to alter the hue slightly.

Beautiful work! (I love Celtic Knotwork). I can see I need to get my hands on Knots3D. All I have is Celtic Knot Draw (freeware) and it doesn't do nearly so well! Very nice job!
