Our big, black "Blair Bear" Umberto passed away at home last night. I found him at 1130 PM when I was preparing to give him his heart medicine. Blair Bear had 3rd-degree heart block for about a year. He needed a pacemaker. However, even if we'd been willing to try that, his heart would probably have not stood the surgery. On the plus side, he lived well for that extra year. You see him in a very typical "mooch" position while closely observed by one of the Wanna Brothers: Awan or Attu. Hard to tell without picking them up. Bear's ambition was to take things easy. He excelled at it and I'm ashamed to say I have few pictures of him. He was so quiet that he was easy to ignore! Except for the mooching. Again, a small, fuzzy animal has left a void all out of proportion to his size. Bye for now.
