I never cared for the band either, but this is a interesting shot of automotive history.

I never cared for the band either, and most certainly had no idea of the origin of it's name. However, I'd like to see one of those vehicular contrivances now. As for this gold comet, I was expecting to see the comet that's apparently in viewing range now, but since I live in the cloudy region of Chicago, I can't see anything more than...well...a low-flying airplane, if I'm inordinately lucky. I love the UrbEx feel of this shot, the feeling that I've been taken off the beaten track to see this rusting, decomposing gem. And I love the muted colors.

A very nice shot of this oldie :-) Not much gode over that anymore, though.

That is one beautiful truck. I'd love to take it home.

Don't feel bad Tara. I didn't know about the name either. In fact, until just now I had never heard of an REO Truck. You sent me to the Internet to find some interesting info. This is a great find and capture. I would love to see it run again.

What a great shot...but then I love all rusting trucks and cars:) Best I can determine this is a late 40s or early 50s truck. As I recall the mine where these old trucks are located closed in 1953... We need to find more of these sorts of relics:)

You've performed a kind of alchemy here, Tara - turning rust & debris into photographic gold. It's getting late & I've just gone through the first page of tonight's photography gallery & am blown away by the quality & creativity of the images I'm seeing. It made me think of someone (I can't remember who) who said recently that they were abandoning Renderosity because they thought the quality of the photography was not very good - I find that very puzzling...

With a hood that well-formed and imposing you have to take this truck seriously. Even the rust has been forced to go slowly in digesting it; made to last, that one! Excellent capture!
