Description
Just a touristy postcard type of image.
Fourth of July Cove is a small example of why Santa Catalina is a sailors dream. It is but one of a few dozen small coves, some with harbors and some wild. This one had tie ups for about 20 boats, but in January there were only two taken.
That is mainland California in the background. People have actually swam across and a herd of Wolly Mammoth swam across during the ice age creating an endemic mini mammoth species.

Very nice photo!
Catalina is such a wonderful place and one of the great things is just what you show here. The little coves and beaches hidden away!!

Mini-mammoths! Seems to be an island thing, huh. This is picture postcard perfect indeed, Roxy!! Love the rich earthy colors in this. Grrrrr, this text box...thought they'd fixed it for moving up and down but that's only sometimes.
Beautiful composition. Very serene.

Idyllic setting - love that deep blue color...
What a beautiful place and an equally beautiful history. A wonderful capture Roxy, great shot.
Cool! The English Channel is full of Woolly Mammoth tusks; when they roamed the earth you could walk from France to England. Modern sea levels rising? Pfft.
Soooooo GORGEOUS! Makes me miss my hometown. :)
Awesome point of view you managed to get from here. I love the clarity and detail in the image. The detail in the red rocks looks great. That one rock in middle of the cove is pretty cool. Neat place. Low and behold! I could expand the text box today! Hurray! Thanks for you extra effort in this matter.
