Description
This little church, Kapelle 'Maria Heinsuchung', is the highest church in Germany. It stands at an altitude of 2690 m , slightly above the Zugspitzplatt and 300m below the summit of the Zugspitze. It was consegrated in 1981 by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the recently abdicated Pope Benedict XVI.

Yes Jock, The mechanism froze up on me. -4F plus the chill factor almost got me too. I was up there several hours.

Spectacular view Sig. I've seen the Zugspitz from the valley below. There is a cable car to the top as I recall. Zoom is really good.
