Seriously. If you don't believe me, google "purple prickly pear" and look at the images.
See the little lizard? I didn't notice that at the time. Bonus wildlife!

Oh wow, this is GORGEOUS and of course the color ROCKS!!
A winner with the yellow daisies!
Pick the prickly pear with the clawed paw...
Very cool shot - never seen a purple (pink?) cactus before...
Oh yes, they are very nice in this shot! I also photographed many of these in Arizona, a most interesting plant.
What a coincidence. Was watching commercial advertisement on tv early this morning on a health drink called Nopalea. That health drink is made from the cactus fruit. I remember my grandfather picking those fruits and we ate it. I don't remember how he cleaned it as there are tiny hair like needles. So I researched it on youtube on how to prepare it. And now your post :) Aloha
In Spanish 'Nopal'. They are quite a delicacy in Mexico. Nicely framed and lit.
It goes well with the yellow flowers.
fascinating plant; great shot

Nice. I wonder what Prickly Pear Jam would taste like from this plant?
Very cool find, both cactus and lizard, but I'm really fascinated by that rebar sculpture looking thing behind! Great capture!
