Description
Last night I came home from work and all was fine with my bike.
went down later on, after dinner and noticed that the rear tire was flat. good point was tht it was flat on only one side.
took the bike to the shop this morning and we discovered the culprit: this little wire, which is 3/16" (app 4.5mm)long.
According to Bill, more and more bikes have been coming in with tires that have been flattened by these wires.
Bill replaced the tube and reinstalled the assembly on my bike and I now have my transportation again.
I know that this is not the most exciting thing I've posted, but it gave me a chance to work with cropping, layers and resizing in my program.
Thanks and have a great day.
Mike
PS - for those who may not know, my bicycle is my major mode of transportation around town and to/from work.
I refuse to drive a car - it scares me.

I also do a lot of cycling and I do not want car (Too Expensive) ;-)
That sux... :-(
Isn't it something how such a tiny thing can cause such a problem. At least you were able to get it fixed and you have transportation again.
I cycle too :o) Wonder where you picked that up?? x
Last blow I had on my car something (never discovered what) punched a hole in a steel-belted radial tire big enough to push a pencil into that would fall out if you let go of it. Amazing that you picked up that wire at all. Glad you got it fixed.
Bummer about that but glad it could be fixed! As Jay-el-Jay said, you wouldn't think such a tiny little wire would cause a flat like that. Where are these wires coming from if a 'lot of bikes' are getting flats from them?
I'm glad you are ok and it didn't make you fall off the bike.
Nothing worse than when a flat tyre let's you down
So perhaps there is some evil person or persons out there that is scattering these small wires around where bicycles are ridden? Sounds like something some scum sucking pigdog would do for kicks! Here in AZ we have a weed that thrives everywhere and produced a thorn right after the plant pops out of the ground that can penetrate any bicycle tire. I have resorted to putting the tire sludge in my tires and have been able to stay ahead of the flat tires that way. I hope you don't have anymore incidents like this. What a bummer. Great series of photos though.
Sorry for all the troubles you have Mike, but glad they are resolved. Hope the reason someone running around poking these wires in bike tires, that would be bad
thats life we can learn from the bad and from the good... superb collage !
I've only drove are new Volvo once.We had a little CTS Caddy that I use to love to drive. Just in a small town near us. My eyes don't move up or to the sides. I have to turn my head instead. I just feel it was time to give it up. Glad all turned out well for you.
Superb captures and collage my friend. God Bless.
great job on the show and tell my friend, hope you have better luck, are you afraid of being a passanger in a car?
GLAD YOU OVERCOME THE CRISIS OF THE FLAT TIRE
The devil is in the details, they do say. Glad it's fixed
Any way I refuse to drive a bike - it scares me(Not a joke) I have to take my daughter to school
It doesn't have to be big to stop you!
At least the pain didn't last long. How does something that small even puncture a tire?
Good job Mike!!
Still the same for me Mike : I refuse to drive a car too...one only car I mean. I prefer to drive several various : one after the other. :-D Take care my friend. ;-)
sometimes it's the smallest of things that can go wrong which cause us the most problems.... eh?
Bikes or car when something wroung in it it was alway bad moment to pass Mike . Hope all is ok now ((5++))
Looks like a mystery to be solved with those wires, Mike. Good job with the cropping and resizing on this! Sometimes driving a car scares the snot out of me, too – unfortunately I live 26 miles away from work, so a bike would be a little bit impractical for me. Especially with all the snow we have on the ground now! LOL
Glad it's all good now! Sucks not having transpertation!
I am very happy that the problem is solved and rectified Mike. Nice presentation!
I'll bet you felt deflated by the whole incident:-) Glad you are back on the road.
Well I hope the problem does not happen again and nice collage of pics :) Cathy xoxoxo
just out of fun people spread nails and other things on the strets or even poison for cats and things like that.life has become very dangerous. and if someone falls down cause of such a wire thing and breaks his neck huh what happens then??.
This proves that there is no little enemy. LOL I'm glad that it was not something more serious, and you've got your bike fit again. excellent collage,Mike
