Description
The Chrysler Corporation produced the DeSoto Custom from 1939 to 1952. This is the hood ornament from the 1950 model 4 door custom flat head six. Behind on my comments since I took a spine, while trimming a Roebelenii Palm, right into that fleshy part of the palm of my hand between the thumb and the wrist. Not the best typist around before this and now I am using only my left hand today. Zoom works!
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

lol hope you be ok. very cool looking hood art here
i thought i saw one similar on american pickers show, cool stuff, they don't make em' like that anymore. nice photo my friend.
Cool old car, sorry bout the hand.
One handsome hood ornament. Well done presentation Dana. When I was some age prior to ten years old, a family down the street had a Desoto sedan...probably a 48 or 49. Since everybody else on the street drove a Ford, Chevy or Plymouth, I thought this Desoto driving family must be rich:)
Great capture, Dana! I had heard of De Soto, but never seen the hood ornament. It's fantastic.
I really like this, but I'm wincing big time at your description of the 'hand' incident!
Excellent capture my friend, cool image, superb work!

Superb ornament, excellent shots with the two POV, Dana ! Thanks for the french comment on my image, take care of your hand !
I love these bonnet ornaments but I have never seen this one before It's a shame they don't put them on cars any more. Look after that hand my friend watch it doesn't get infected.
That's an oldie! I can't remember seeing one of these before. Hope you get over that spinal injury quickly Dana!
Very nicely captured Dana.
Very cool photoshots Dana, i hope al will be oke with your hand Dana.
Your accident is why all palms and other killer plants are banished from my garden. I set fire to the last palm to attack me and watched it burn to the ground..most enjoyable! I love this bonnet mascot..very collectable I expect.
Nice capture-Very unusual item
Wonderful shot... Very very stunning item!!!
I love hood ornaments i bought a silver pig from American Pickers from their shop was going to put it on my truck but to many people want to steal it so it sits in my house great shot of it.

Ouch! Hope you got some antibiotic for that wound, those things can be bad...what a lovely shot, I had no idea it was a conquistador on their hoods!

Ouch, Dana!!! You have to watch out for those southern dangers!! I love this hood ornament of the DeSoto. I presume that is what Fort DeSoto is named after, one of the beautiful places we visited in Florida. What a great shot!!!
WOW !!!!! i like soo much!
Ouch that has got to hurt.Take care of it and get yourself a good pair of gloves before trimming anymore. The shots of this hood ornament look great. You don't see many of those around these days.
WAY COOL
It is a striking hood ornament and it resonates with me, when I go to our annual street fair, called 'Wintersun Festival', where all those beautiful and lovingly restored vintage vehicles are on display (with amazing ornaments) for a whole week ... and this is very special, as I have never seen one like this before, thanks for sharing this one - BTW take care and get well soon, Dana! I have never seen that kind of head !
