Description
Plunge Basin of Snoqualmie Falls
For the Snoqualmie People, who have lived for centuries in the Snoqualmie Valley in western Washington, Snoqualmie Falls is central to their culture, beliefs, and spirituality.
A traditional burial site, to the Snoqualmie, the falls are "the place where First Woman and First Man were created by Moon the Transformer" and "where prayers were carried up to the Creator by great mists that rise from the powerful flow."
The mists rising from the base of the waterfall are said to serve to connect Heaven and Earth.

Note: Falls are 268 feet (82m) high.

Superb capture Bill. God Bless.
Beautiful - you captured the powerful flow of water & the rising mist very dramatically...
Very beautiful Bill and a great legend.
Wonderful-A real waterfall with real water and not a smooth mist
Wow, that's a serious amount of water flowing through there! Nice shot!
Excellent capture Bill, the noise must be amazing!! x
Fabulous shot and great image !!!
Oh, beautiful. Cotton hair, if I may say what it reminds me of. And no small falling distance either. You lucky fellow to be able to get around like you do and to get to take photos like this! The tree stuck against the rock at the top gives an idea of how big this water fall is. Was there a way down so one can take a photo of the falls from a low angle? That must be a fantastic view. Keep up the good work! :-)
You can see why it would inspire reverence and awe.
beautiful
It is beyond beautiful and mystical

That's such a beautiful waterfall. I can see why it seems the mist carries prayers aloft! A lovely shot.
Such a wide spread of water; lots of snowmelt there! Bet it was deafening (and moist!) Awe-inspiring capture!
I like how you'ved captured the force of the water combined with the spray here Bill!
Beauty! I can see why they would have powerful beliefs about this place.
I would have expected greater depth of field with that f-stop, iso and shutter speed! Love to shoot something like this. What would you do if you had another chance?
I can practically hear this... amazing photo.
