Just wanted to post something to let you all know that I may not be around much for a while...
We visited my dad for a little while on Valentine's day.... He has gone downhill noticebly in the last couple of weeks.
Yesterday, I talked with cousin's wife Sandy - she's the manager of the nursing home where my father is staying. He hasn't eaten in the last couple of days. The hospice folks tell us he's probably in the last 4 - 6 weeks.
He's lived a good, long life - he made it to 94 last month, but the sun is now setting.
Anyway, my posting and commenting may be a bit spotty for a while...
Working on Page 21 as time and inspiration allows.

Beautiful tribute photo Rod. I went through the same thing with my dad back in 2007...he made it to 99 1/2. He had no regrets. I suspect the same is true of your dad. Enjoy him while you can...see you when things slacken a bit for you.

its a road we have to walk down sooner or later all of us. just remember the mucho precious years you had,lucky to have had a father for so long man,think of that and it will confort you.

A beautiful picture. My sympathies for your fathers condition, it is never easy. My father passed 40 years younger and very suddenly. I cherish the time I had and cherish the memories.

I went through a few 4-6 week episodes with my Dad over a period of a few years. Do not be surprised at a rally, it often happens. But it is important to be there because when the final days do come they often become quite lucid and you want to be there for those important times.
OH! I am SO SORRY to hear this Rod! Hey, you do what you have to buddy. We will be thinking of you, and will be here if you need us. I know territory you're headed into. I have watch both my parents pass, an a LOT young too. My dad was only 57. Please be assured of own heartfelt feelings and warm wishes.
