Description
Ralphie is very scarred on his face after the fox incident, and not as handsome at the moment as he was when I took this pic in December.
The vet is operating tomorrow to sew up a big gash inside his upper lip, and another large bite on his back metatarsal which I am fairly certain Rosie did in the excitement of the moment.
The council is supposedly collecting the foxbody which is out on the shrub border in a bag. If they collect it from inside my boundaries they charge!
I could put in in the bin, but that was emptied today, and it would be a bit pongey by next week.

Butter wouldn't melt!! Nice assassin portrait Andrea.
hope h will recover soon
Bad puppy! Lovely capture of him though Andrea!
He is a tough lad protecting his turf - and you! He is so regal, I wish you both all the best for a speedy recovery. Clive
Is it just foxes he has an aversion for or other critters. Handsome fella here, hope all goes well with his repairs.
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
DANG!! It looks all to horrible. I am glad Magnus is too old and too little to run up a fox. Not that he wouldnt if he could. But the foxes here are big. And he cant run it up in a corner, fortunately. Sorry you have these troubles.
lol happy he lived thought it.
Living danderously...hope all ends well
Superb capture he is a fine looking fellow
Great portrait. Well done
Wonderful portrait Keep us informed of all these matters
moody and magnificent assasin
SUPERLATIVE CANINE PORTRAIT!
Stellar portrait of The Terminator! Actually, Ralphie does project an aura of determination on his otherwise placid face. As for disposing of the fox's body, you could always bury it in your garden. It couldn't be that large to deal with.
It's just what he was bred for, I guess; he is such a beautiful boy, scars and all! I hope he ends up okay after the latest episode!
good Rosie survived the attack
And a proud protector he is.
Ralphie is a champion, they are such protectors. It was for you.
Yes he is a handsome lad but one day he will attack a fox and will suffer significant damage. My sense is that foxes are much like cats in that they will only fight if they are cornered. Simple barking would probably chase them away. I suspect Ralph is protecting his turf more than his family. In that he is much like we humans.
Oh dear. How tedious to have to keep watch all the time and not be able to let Ralph out in the garden on his own. I hope he heals well. This is a great portrait of him. So determined!
Just doing what he was made to do, hope the little murderer recovers soon and maybe remembers this a bit!
I hope he's OK and not too scared. If he's good at catching squirrels send him and his motley crew round to me.
Love this portrait for Ralphie Andrea! I hope he heals well! Good lad!
Wonderful capture !!!
hope all ends well so wonderful portrait!
Fantastic shot u can see the wheels turning in his head.
He has a mission here on earth...:)
Superb capture Andrea. I am glad his operation went well. I just hope no vixen will bother Ralphie again. God Bless.
A stellar portrait of Ralphie, he is very handsome here, reminds me a lot of victorian portraits where no one smiles and everyone sits very straight and proper. He is very business like here, and we know what his business is. I'm glad I've not had to deal with this. I think my dogs have all been much too domesticated, LOL.
