Description
This juvenile Boat-tailed Grackle was trying to steal our bait while we were fishing a few weeks back. She was about 14.5 inches (37cm) long and very fast getting to the bait box.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated.

Ohhhh...such a beautiful bird Dana, gorgeous capture, just amazing!
love stuff like this Dana, grap and run/fly. bet these guys do it all the time to fishermen. and a cool clear shot my friend.
They are very smart and fast. We have her cousins here, the quiscalus mexicanus, AKA Zanate, and they have adapted brilliantly to life in the city. This capture is great, Dana. Great sharpness and DOF. And her attitude of expectation is amazing. No driver of Nascar is so alert to the starting flag, as this bird waiting yours carelessness.
Such a sleek thief! This is a great shot, Dana. Worth a bit of bait for a sitter like that.
Wonderful capture!
Superb bird, very nice capture, Dana!
Beautiful bird, It looks a bit like our Magpies but they are Black and white and don't come very close but will take anything you put out for the other birds.
Funny text and excellent capture of this thin and beautiful bird, Dana !
I am liking her colors! I have not seen many around here but lots in Texas when visiting my daughter, none colored this way though! They seem much like Magpies in their habits.
She is beautiful, dear Dana A sterling capture. Hugs for all day. Di. xx
I used to see so many of these, but have not seen any around my yard in years.
