It's been a while since I've posted any 2D work. This is a piece that I've worked on for over a month, and have finally brought it to a stage where I feel it is close to complete.
Apologies to all for the large file size, but, there I worked hard to create large amounts of detail work, as that is the nature of the image.

What a huge chasm of difference between your work in 3D and this 2D entry my friend. I am put in mind of so many things by this strange render, but the two that hit me the strongest are as opposite as the comparison between your art forms. First impression to grab my attention was the resemblance to the kind of TV reception back in the 60's before the advent of cable. Second thoughts centered around another similarity to the Shroud of Turan which has created so much controversy over the years. I can also see the hint of a draftsman's graft paper in the small cubes used for precise measurement. Regardless of the impressions this creates, there's a wonderful precision in design throughout the image, and the small infusion of color makes it all the more interesting. The final thought that flashed through my mind was that of a burnt circuit board...lol. I think an image capable of inspiring so vast a discrepancy of interpretation is a complete success in its creation. Well done Howie - like a tongue twister - this is a mind-twister!

A mind-twister is a very good way to describe it. At first, you look at it as just mirrored images, but the longer you look, the more complex it becomes. When you do manage to pull yourself out of it, your mind sends you back, seeking for more. Impossible to stop looking at it!
